Three Colorado State University football players have been suspended from the Rams football team indefinitely due to their alleged involvement in beating four first year students after a party on Friday night. The first year students attacked in the incident suffered black eyes, cuts, bruises, chipped teeth, as well as other injuries. Other football players have reached out to the first year students to apologize, and they hope people will recognize not all players behave in such negative ways. Two of the players allegedly involved in this incident were also involved in a St. Patrick’s Day incident where a teammate was stabbed in the shoulder.
Two Chinese international students were killed near the University of Southern California campus today after an attempted carjacking. USC has one of the largest international student populations in the United States, which has many worried about the impact this incident may have on those interested in studying overseas. The gunman fled on foot and has not been found by authorities at this time.
In November of last year, police pepper-sprayed seated protesters at UC Davis. A task force released a report today stating that the campus police and administration made “critically flawed” decisions, and that the use of pepper spray was not authorized by campus policy.
Bobby Petrino was fired from the Arkansas Razorbacks after a motorcycle accident plunged his illicit relationship with a subordinate into the public eye. Jessica Dorrell, a former Razorbacks volleyball player was hired by Petrino last month without disclosing his conflict of interest, or the fact he had once paid her $20,000. The relationship seems to have been going on for quite some time.
