Oklahoma University Professor under Investigation for Experimenting on Students
A former graduate assistant has turned in an Oklahoma University professor. The former TA insists that students sustained injuries and underwent painful procedures that lead to internal bleeding and horrific bruises. The students were urged by the professor, Chad Kerksick, to keep the experiments and procedures confidential. The professor is now on a leave of absence as he undergoes investigation into his alleged behavior.
Cooper Union: May break 150 year “tradition” and start Charging Tuition
Cooper Union College is considering a change to a longstanding policy of letting undergraduate students attend the college for
free. The college is a prestigious school in New York that is well known for its art, architecture and engineering
schools. The President of the college said altering the scholarship policy would help close the $16.5 million budget
deficit. If the change is made this will be the very first time that the college has ever charged tuition since its
founding in 1859. The president indicated if the change is made its current student body of 900 would not be
affected and would start with incoming classes.

Dillard University has named Dr. Walter Kimbrough as the next president to lead the historically black institution in New Orleans. The University had been affected negatively by the Hurricane Katrina disaster but has seen a recent resurgence. Dr. Kimbrough has worked diligently to improve black male retention rates and connect with students through his active twitter account @hiphopprez.
Purdue University gives up Name of John Doe #26
Purdue University has released the name of a student who is accused by an adult entertainment company of illegally downloading their content. The company is filing a number of lawsuits against individuals who they claim have illegally downloaded their copyrighted adult films. The university had previously fought to protect the student’s privacy by not releasing the name to the company. Early this month a US Magistrate denied the university’s request to keep that information private. The student claims that many people could have downloaded the video using his unsecured network router or computer.
