Last week on our podcast we discussed our new upcoming format and funding effort. We sent out a twitter message, and put a widget on the site, but I have been weary about pushing it too much.
Why are we doing this? We are trying to advance professional development for student affairs professionals using web technologies. The Goal: 3 online conferences a year & Launching 10 new podcasts.
With one week behind us, and 21 days to go, we have received $302 in donations from 7 different donors. I was both excited and honored to have people help fund this project, but now I want to work harder over the next 21 days to meet my funding goals.
If this is your first time to hear about the funding quest there is a page where I will update results, and post how the money will be spent. We will be transparent through the entire process. The goal was not to have a dozen people give $100, but 100′s of people give $10.
If you are not interested in contributing that is fine. I know it takes a lot to give a little, so I would not be upset if you do not feel like giving right now. I hope you still hang around the site, listen to the podcast, and attend the conferences.
