This recent article in The Chronicle highlights the additional difficulties gay and lesbian couples and singles have when deciding to adopt. They also give some good recommendations for colleges and universities (are you reading this HR?) to follow to increase their support of all staff and faculty interested in adopting.
I find I usually forget that Human Resources may be a good place to inquire when looking into housing, choosing a doctor, or getting information on school districts. Has anyone being pleased with information they received from their university HR?
