Yesterday The Huffington Post has launched an additional section to their online newspaper focused on college and education news. This is great for those of you that cannot read enough about what’s happening in the Higher Education world. I am an occasional reader of the Huffington Post, but this will make me a daily reader.
In addition to the new college section in the Huff, they are also taking applications for 30 student citizen journalist to cover issues for the post. For a student interested in journalism, this could be an amazing opportunity to showcase their work on a national level and get experience working with the Post editors.
The Huffington Post has a readership that would rival any major newspaper, and helped reshape (or can be blamed, depending your perspective) the way news is delivered. It will be interesting to see if the Huffington Post student reporters will help reshape student media that is currently struggling in the new media age.
