Dean of Students 2.0

by Jeff Jackson on November 24, 2009

In my quest to create the Ultimate Student Affairs Twitter list. I discovered Dean of Students Kenn Elmore at Boston University.  I clicked on his webpage fully equipped with blog, Kenn’s Twitter account, Facebook fan page, Flickr account, and a very entertaining video about H1N1 and Student Health Services.

I think Boston University serves as a great model of improved communication to the millennial generation. I would love to hear how long they have had this site, and if they feel it is successful.

Homework: Look at the BU Dean of Student page and see if there are elements you should implement on your campus.

Thanks for the kinds words about our website! It was a year long brainstorming and design process in conjunction with our Office of New Media. However, we are not sitting on our hands, and are looking at a mild re-design going live June 2009 or so.

If you have any questions, my boss (Dean Elmore) and I are more than happy to answer them. Feel free to email me!

    Thanks again!

Kenn and I will be co-presenting at the ACPA National Conference next spring. The topic of our talk will be Senior Student Affairs Officers (SSAO's) and Social Media.
